Stuff it – let’s party! There’s not a lot of good news coming out of the US. Trump’s executive order on “two genders”, Republicans in Idaho want the Supreme Court to allow them to ban gay marriage, a health insurance company in Texas claims covering PrEP is against their “religious beliefs”, Meta has decided it’s okay for LGBTQIA+ people to be described as mentally ill…

But when it comes to celebrating LGBTQIA+ pride, nothing beats WorldPride, and this year, the massive global event is hosted by none other than Washington, DC, now the official residence of the great Orange One. We preview WorldPride 2025 in Washington, DC a city that combines history and arts with a vibrant party scene no matter who is in the White House.

At DNA, we always celebrate LGBTQIA+ people and culture, and this issue is particularly riotous! We’ve got Reuben Kaye camping it up in Jesus Christ Superstar – was there unrequited love between Judas and Jesus, he asks. Lil Nas X gets jiggy on the back seat with a hot chum but, asks Marc Andrews, is he now too gay for a Trumpian USA?

And Joee Vee’s stable of sexy New York men raise their blood sugar levels (and our blood pressure) with sensual nude portraits with their favourite slice of cake. A true sugar hit!

In the latest in our series, Conversations With The Elders, 90-year-old Les Peterkin says, “Get on with it and enjoy yourself,”. Les survived the bad old days of police entrapment, workplace discrimination and stigma, but he and his long-term partner thrived and loved. And his message to us all now is don’t waste a day!

Another generation, pop stars On Mekahel and Stewart Taylor, get shirtless and revved up for our entertainment.

Globe-hopper Robert La Bua takes us to Rio de Janeiro (for the beach and the men) and Sao Paulo (for the art and culture, and the men). Photographer Stas Vokman and three loved-up models take us to the beach for a raunchy Summer Fling. And even our Straight Mate this month, The Bold And The Beautiful’s Scott Clifton thinks gay is better: “They should kill off my straight character and bring him back as his gay identical twin!” he jokes.

We may not survive the Trumpster Fire that’s coming so get to DC and party like it’s, er, 1979! A big, brash, loud, colourful, disrespectful queer fiesta right on the Republican’s doorstep is exactly what we need this year! Be loud, be proud be heard.

Enjoy DNA #301.
